Sunday Service

About

The Sunday Service is a literary journal focused on fiction that resists resolution. The journal publishes work attentive to interior pressure, silence, and aftermath. These are pieces that remain close to lived experience and do not rush toward meaning. The Sunday Service is queer-attentive. Queerness appears as lived condition or point of view, not as lesson, punishment, or device. Much of the work is shaped by rural and Southern contexts and by writing that values what is withheld as much as what is stated. Edited by Anders Crawford. New work and editorial notes appear on the our blog. Announcements and broader conversation take place via Bluesky .
